SUNY Stony Brook MART Building & New Bed Tower
VJ Associates pre-construction team was integral to the AECOM team to identify and influence key areas of decision making in terms of budget and function. The Stony Brook Bed and MART project involved multiple bidding including Early Site Package, Core & Shell Package and Fit out Package of the two buildings. The Medical & Research Translation (MART) Building is a 9-story 255,212 SF building which will include classrooms, auditorium, cyclotron, exam rooms, and labs. The Bed Tower is a 10-story 261,550 SF building designed to accommodate 10 future stories. This building includes 150 patient rooms, operating rooms, MRI facility, emergency room, loading dock, cafeteria, and public areas.
Coney Island Hospital Extension - Vanderbilt Avenue Clinic Feasibility Study
A feasibility study cost estimate was provided for the Vanderbilt Avenue Clinic.
The purpose of the feasibility study was turn the two stories above ground into a modular building rather than stick built as initially designed.
Other Healthcare Projects
- CUNY Advanced Science Research Center
Cost estimating, value engineering, reconciliation, and change order estimating services were provided from pre-schematic through construction documents for a new 400,000 SF, LEED Certified, Advanced Science Research Center. This project included a clean room for diagnostics and fabrication, state of the art imaging facilities, a rooftop observatory, 100-seat auditorium, and a small education center that will feature key highlights of the five science disciplines supported in the building.
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center - Monmouth Ambulatory Care Outpatient Facility
We provided a conceptual cost estimate for the renovation and addition at the new state-of-the-art out-patient facility. The new facility will be approximately 148,355 SF and include facilities for administration and support staff, building support services, Linear Accelerator Vault (LINAC), ambulance drop off area, loading docks, a new entrance, and site work.
- George Washington University School of Nursing: NP Simulation Lab, Student Success Center & Media Center
Cost estimating was provided for a 5,000 SF nursing simulation laboratory featuring 12 faculty-monitored exam rooms, 3,000 SF Student Success Center, and a 1,500 SF media room.
- West Haven VA Medical Center Combined Heat & Power Plant
Cost estimates were provided from schematic through construction documents for the demolition of the existing incinerator building, and construction of a new stand-alone CHP building, CHP units, absorption chillers and associated equipment. The project also included the construction a new Salt and Sand storage facility with parking for up to eight utility vehicles.
