Smithsonian Institution South Campus Master Plan
Cost Estimates were provided for the development of a campus master plan around the historic Castle Building on the National Mall. Working closely with the Smithsonian, the A/E team conceived a master plan for the South Mall Campus to improve and expand visitor services and education, create clear entrances and connections between the museums and gardens, replace aging building mechanical systems, and address inefficient energy use. The proposed master plan will be implemented over a 10-to-20–year period.

VJ Associates prepared the baseline construction CPM schedule and monthly updates for this $27 million, 42,000 SF New York City and national historic landmark museum redesign. The goal was to increase the total exhibition space by 60 percent, as well as to reconfigure conservation and collection-storage facilities. The baseline schedule covered all phases of the project, including mobilization, procurement, submittals and approvals, construction, and commissioning.
