CUNY CCNY Advanced Science Research Center

December 18, 2009

VJ Associates recently provided cost estimating services for the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at CUNY City College in New York. This project symbolizes CUNY's "Decade of Science" plan, a plan to emphasize science, technology, engineering, and math in education. The CUNY mission toward science was emphasized in this November article in The New York Times, where it was mentioned that the foundation had recently been poured on the ASRC.

Chosen by Flad & Associates/Kohn Pedersen Fox, VJ Associates provided pre-schematic, schematic, and design development estimates, and value engineering services for the new 400,000sf research center. The core facilities will include a clean room for diagnostics and fabrication, state of the art imaging facilities, a rooftop observatory, 100-seat auditorium, a cafe, and a small education center that will feature key highlights of the five science disciplines supported in the building.

For more information visit the CUNY "Decade of Science" website or view this video describing the project.
