VJ Associates was selected by Levien & Company to provide cost estimating services for the Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York. Plans for the school were recently filed with the Department of Buildings in  New York City, reported The New York Observer, and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2012.

The new building will house the middle and lower schools and will be located on the corner of 61st Street and West End Avenue, adjacent to the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School. The plan is for a 9-story, 135,000sf structure, which meets the criteria for a Gold LEED certification. Notable items include a greywater recycling system, a chilled beam heating and cooling system for better energy efficiency, and a green roof system.
