A new 6-acre portion of Gantry Plaza State Park, Phase 1 of the Queens West Stage 2 project, was 
officially opened by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Queens West Development Corporation and the Port Authority. It features a waterfront promenade along the East River, an open lawn, new athletic field and reconstructed cove and wetlands.
The park is an integral component of the planned 40-acre Queens West project to revitalize the Long Island City waterfront that includes residential units, retail space, two public schools and park land. For Queens West Stage Two, VJ Associates provided the cost estimating services for the architect, Abel Bainnson Butz, LLP. Our team was responsible for preparing estimates from pre-schematic through 100% construction document phases and attending meetings with Queens West Development Corporation.
