VJ Associates recently completed a rigorous, high-tech project for HDR Architecture (photo credit): Brookhaven National Lab's new National Synchrotron Light Source II. We performed cost estimating and value engineering services as well as reconciled the estimate with the Construction Manager.
The NSLS-II conventional facilities will provide the structures and systems necessary to enable installation and operation of the accelerator and experimental beamlines. An important issue in the site plan development was to maximize opportunities for installation of extra-long beamlines that would extend beyond the Ring Building walls, which house the accelerator and associated beamlines, and into the surrounding open space.
