VJ Associates was selected by The LiRo Group to provide cost estimating services for the 60,000sf interior fit-out of a new community center in Battery Park City. The center will be located at the base of two new residential towers located at Site 23/24 in the North Neighborhood, immediately north of Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. The project includes swimming pools, a gymnasium, theater, classrooms, and recreational and dance spaces.
The Battery Park City Community Center plans meet the qualifications for a Platinum LEED rating. This criteria is evident in all MEP, HVAC, general construction, landscaping, and site work. One notable feature is a 500-foot wall of glass designed to allow the use of natural light inside the center.
